Hadleys Park

Hadley park was formerly a slave plantation owned by a white slave-owner named John L. Hadley & his family which had lived on the site. Once the plantation was made into a park after centuries of slavery, the city named it after Hadley to honor him.  The park, which opened in 1912, is on 28th Avenue in North Nashville, between Fisk and Tennessee State universities, two historically black colleges.

Hartman Park Regional Recreation Center

Hartman Park Community Center offers patrons of all ages a modern and friendly place to exercise, recreate and meet friends in a beautiful park setting in the Bordeaux area. We offer a wide variety of activities and programs for people of all ages and abilities. Fees for fitness memberships and classes are very reasonable, and many activities are free. Program and facility offerings include:

Cumberland River Greenway Metro Center Levee

Stretching from Ted Rhodes Golf Course and the Tennessee State University neighborhood on its western end to Germantown and the Downtown Greenway on its eastern end, the MetroCenter Levee section of the Cumberland River Greenway is a fantastic destination for runners of all types to log some miles. This greenway segment is a great neighborhood connector, providing a recreational link between the commercial districts of North Nashville and the rest of the Cumberland River Greenway in the Downtown core. Runners can take advantage of the 2.7-mile MetroCenter Levee section as a great standalone workout, or tack on some extra mileage by including the Downtown section of the trail as well.
